It was the first day of the new school year in the Two Rivers Public School District.
Superintendent Diane Johnson tells Seehafer News that it was a red-carpet welcome for students and staff at one lucky school in the district Tuesday morning.
“We picked a name out of a hat, and picked the middle school,” the superintendent explained. “We cheered the staff members and the students into the school.”
Those welcoming students and teachers back to L.B. Clarke Middle School had pom pons in hand while the kids and staff members were entering the building on a carpet of red felt.
Johnson called it a lot of fun, saying “The staff had fun, we had music playing, and we are already talking about next year getting cowbells and having a little drum roll.”
The superintendent closed by saying this was done, “just to get kids excited about coming back to school because [the administration] is super happy that they’re back in class.”
