Sloppy defense and miscues cost the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers big last night, as they were blasted by the Peoria Chiefs 12-3.
It was a back-and-forth battle through the first 4 innings, as the Rattlers took a one-run lead in the 1st and 4th, and the Chief bounced back shortly after.
Then in the 6th it all came unwound.
The Chiefs had a 4-3 lead entering the home half of the inning, but they notched four runs in the next two innings to secure the win.
Darien Miller and Jefferson Quero each had home runs for the Rattlers while four pitchers combined to strike out 7 batters and give up 12 hits.
The Appleton-based ballclub will try to turn it around tonight as they return to Dozer Park with Alexander Cornielle taking the mound against Wilfredo Pereira.
