A Green Bay teen connected to a homicide from earlier this year may be asking to have his case moved to juvenile court.
Jeremiah Robinson was 15 years old when he allegedly shot and killed a man outside of the Walgreens store on the corner of Oneida and Mason Streets back in February.
Under Wisconsin law, Robinson should be tried in “adult court” as any homicide suspects between 10 and 16 are to be prosecuted as such, but his attorneys can file for what is called a “reverse waiver hearing”.
This is used when a juvenile and their attorneys contest that the suspect is unfit for the criminal justice system.
Such requests would be reviewed by a judge and not automatically granted.
As of now, a waiver has not been filed, but Robinson is due back in court on October 3rd for a status conference.
