The last place Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Brewers for the eighth time in the last 12 games Tuesday night (August 30th) at American Family Field.
Kolton Wong went two-for-three and hit his 11th homer, driving in two runs, while rookie starter Jason Alexander held the Pirates to one run in the first five innings.
The Brewers had runners on first and third with no outs in the bottom of the ninth but couldn’t score.
One of the few good things coming out of the 4-2 defeat was the fact Milwaukee didn’t lose ground in the National League Central Division race.
The two teams wrap up the three-game set when they meet for the final time this season this afternoon at 1:10 p.m. (August 31ST).
Freddy Peralta will start the game for manager Craig Counsell with coverage on 107.9 FM WOMT starting at 12:35 p.m.
Also, the Brewers are saying thanks to their fans – all 100 million of them.
The franchise surpassed the milestone Tuesday night with 24,764 fans in the seats.
To thank the fans who have supported the team since it was the Seattle Pilots some game tickets will go on sale for six dollars apiece.
The specially priced tickets will be available from 10:00 a.m. today until midnight Thursday.
Fans can choose to attend any game in September or October.
People who go online to brewers.com/100million will be able to purchase up to eight of the special tickets.
Those tickets will also be pre-loaded with six dollars in value to be used for concessions or merchandise inside American Family Field.
