Wisconsin had been number three.
A win over a ranked Kentucky team over the weekend boosted Marquette into the poll at number 24.
Marquette is just ahead of USC.
Texas is ranked first this week, followed by Nebraska.
Wisconsin and Marquette will square off in a non-conference match Friday.
