Gutted by trades to obtain players like Christian Yelich, Willy Adames, and Hunter Renfroe, the Brewers’ minor league system had fallen on hard times.
It was consistently ranked in the bottom third for talent and players ready to move up to the major leagues.
That has rapidly changed.
MLB pipeline recently ranked the Brewers minor league talent 19th out of the 30 teams – a jump of about a half-dozen slots.
Outfield prospect Jackson Churio is driving the move up because he is rated one of the best minor league prospects around.
The list of the top 100 prospects includes Sal Frelick at number-49 and Joey Wiemer at number-89.
Also, the Brewers franchise expects to reach a milestone during the six-game homestand starting tonight (August 26th).
The team says it is likely that sometime in the next six games it will welcome the 100 millionth fan to attend one of its games.
The Brewers were founded in 1969.
The total attendance for all home games so far stands at 99,845,162.
That count started in Seattle and it includes total ticket sales at Sick’s Stadium in Seattle, County Stadium in Milwaukee, and American Family Field in Milwaukee – formerly called Miller Park.
