A 9-year-old Fond du Lac County girl had to be flown to Milwaukee for treatment after a 1,000-pound hay bale landed on her yesterday afternoon (August 24th).
Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the Town of Eden at around 2:50 p.m. where they discovered that three children were chasing kittens in the barn.
Two of the children had climbed on top of a stack of hay bales, while the girl stayed on the ground.
The children accidentally knocked one of the bales of hay over, and it landed directly on top of the young girl.
Two adults on the scene were able to get her out from under the bale, but not before she suffered significant injuries.
The girl was flown to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where her condition is not known.
No other injuries were reported, and no charges are likely to be filed.
