The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers continued to struggle last night, as they lost a close game to the Lansing Lugnuts 4-3.
There was a lot of offense in the matchup, with Lansing scattering 10 hits and Wisconsin getting 6.
The big difference came in the performance of the teams’ respective bullpens.
Rattler starter Carols Rodriguez went 4 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 run and striking out five batters, while his relievers allowed the remaining eight hits and 3 more runs while only striking out 2 batters.
Lansing’s starter, Grant Holman meanwhile, allowed 3 hits, and 2 runs, while striking out 4 batters.
His backup only allowed 3 more hits and 1 run through the final 5 innings, while striking out 9 more batters.
The two teams are back at it this afternoon, with first pitch at Fox Cities Stadium scheduled for 12:10 p.m.
Stiven Cruz will look to have another good outing for the Rattlers, as he battles Christian Fernandez, who will also make his second start in the Midwest League.
