
A large office building along I-43 that was originally used by the Manitowoc Company for its corporate headquarters, will be occupied by Lakeside Foods next year.
The premier supplier of high-quality frozen and canned foods announced that it has completed a real estate transaction to purchase the former Manitowoc Company/Investors Bank building on South 44th Street on the city’s west side.
Lakeside Foods purchased the structure from Nicolet Bank, which acquired Investors last year.
The company will make minor renovations to fit its’ space needs, including adding a Quality Assurance Lab and anticipates moving its’ corporate team into the new space in spring 2023.
Lakeside has been at its’ current Hamilton Street location since 2000 when it purchased the former public library from the city.
But, the company has grown its business significantly and has run out of space at its present site.
They have 149 corporate office employees and project continued growth in the coming years.
Joe Yanda, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lakeside Foods, said in a statement, “Manitowoc has been our home since our founding 135 years ago and we have continued to invest in our presence here, with expansions at our production and warehouse facilities.”
He added, “Now, we’re excited to invest in a larger space for corporate staff, which has steadily grown as we’ve expanded our customer base and made numerous acquisitions.”
