Despite the graduation of standout linebackers like Leo Chenal and Jack Sanborn, the Badgers have some solid depth at the position this season.
Head coach Paul Chryst says with 10 days to go before the September 3rd opener against Illinois State at least five players are still fighting for starting positions.
New inside linebackers coach Mark D’Onofrio told his players the slate was clean as practice started and anybody could earn one of the two spots.
D’Onofrio says Jake Chaney, Tatum Grass, Maema Njongmeta, Bryan Sanborn, and Jordan Turner have played so well that it’s clear depth will be a strength and all five will get as many reps as possible.
