The Manitowoc County Mariners play for a league championship tonight (August 20th) in western Wisconsin.
The local semi-pro football team collides with the undefeated and top-seeded River City RoughRiders in the Northern Lights Football League title contest at Logan High School in La Crosse.
The 3rd seeded Mariners of Coach Brent Luebke have lost just twice in 12 games.
For their quarterback, Marcos Alfaro II, it’ll be his 5th semi-pro championship game after having led his team to wins in the Wisconsin State Football League in 2015, ’16, and ’17, as well as the NLFL crown in the spring of 2017.
Kickoff time for the Mariners and RoughRiders is scheduled at 5:00 p.m.
