A Manitowoc woman was able to help catch a man attempting to break into a vehicle.
Officers with the Manitowoc Police Department were sent to a residence in the 1800 block of Michigan Avenue at around 4:00 this morning (August 19th) to investigate the report.
When they arrived they found the suspect laying facedown on the grass, with the truck owner standing over him.
The suspect was placed in handcuffs and gave varying stories as to why he was entering the vehicle.
The officers then spoke with the woman who called them.
She explained that he saw the 28-year-old man attempting to enter the vehicle when she brought her dog outside.
She initially thought it was her son, but quickly learned it was not.
She then woke up her son and husband, who detained the suspect until police arrived.
