The City of Green Bay is looking into how they intend on using their American Rescue Plan Act funds.
The City received over $23.5 million from the COVID relief program, and in order to figure out how they wanted to use those funds, the City Council held a special meeting this week to discuss it.
40 separate proposals were submitted, with the highest ticket item being the replacement of Fire Stations 1 and 3, both of which are over 80 years old.
This project will cost an estimated $9 million and would combine the two stations into one.
However, that proposal was not approved outright, but rather a study will be conducted on the buildings to determine the necessity of the project.
However, the Council did approve requests for park development at Bay Beach.
$2.25 million will be used for renovations to the main pavilion and for the replacement of two downed rides.
