The Packers have trimmed their roster to 84 players by releasing four Tuesday.
Tight end Dominique Dafney, running back BJ Baylor, offensive lineman George Moore, and linebacker Ellis Brooks were cut before practice.
Dafney’s release is being called a surprise because he has appeared in 15 games for Green Bay over the last two seasons.
He had been sidelined with a knee injury but returned to practice Monday.
Baylor caught a 68-yard TD pass in the first preseason game against San Francisco but his place on the team was likely eliminated by last week’s signing of Dexter Williams.
