The rapid drop in gas prices we have seen in Eastern Wisconsin over the past couple of weeks slowed this past week.
Manitowoc County for example had been dropping by 10 cents or more a week, but according to the AAA Gas Prices webpage, the average price per gallon since last week is down only 4 cents this week to $3.65.
Calumet and Outagamie Counties also reported 4-cent drops to $3.57 and $3.60 while Sheboygan County saw a three-cent decline to $3.74.
Brown County motorists are actually paying 4 cents MORE per gallon this week, now averaging $3.63, while Kewaunee County reported the largest drop in the area, down 7 cents to $3.64.
Door County also saw a four-cent drop to $3.77.
The state average also rose a little bit, up 2 cents to $3.72 while the national average fell below the $4 mark for the first time since the first week in March.
That average fell 7 cents to $3.95.
The average price in the seven-county area we cover is nearing the same average it was one year ago, but at $3.66 per gallon, it is still 68 cents more expensive than in the third week in August 2021.
