Plans have been finalized for this Friday’s Jerry Bonino Field celebration in Two Rivers.
Raider fans arriving for the Two Rivers home opener with Random Lake will see the start of the new look.
According to project committee spokesman Tim Broderick, visible from the parking lot, the first pressbox sign has been installed.
He explained that Two Rivers High School students are carrying the legacy of an educator and coach forward by manufacturing the sign for Jerry Bonino Field.
Renderings of the new field entrance will be displayed at the 5:30 p.m. reception Friday at the high school with light refreshments and a photo station.
Broderick said the trophy case is being raided for the hardware won by the Raiders under the leadership of Coach Bonino.
Fans can have their picture taken with history and the legendary coach.
Then at halftime, there’s going to be a special ceremony when all former players, students and fans will be invited to take the field with Coach Bonino.
During Friday night’s reception, donation forms to pay for the new entrance and pressbox signage will be available, as well as order forms, to honor your own player or student with a commemorative brick.
