It is a week of fundraisers for the Two Rivers Senior Center.
Yesterday, they sold chili throughout the day, and tomorrow (August 11th), they will be focusing on dessert.
We spoke with Michelle Michaels from the Center, who explained that the last time they had a pie sale it was a tremendous success.
“The pre-orders kinda got out of hand last time and we were there really late making pies so we are going to make what we can, and that is what we are going to sell,” she explained. “I believe we have crusts for about 40 some odd pies.”
There will be a variety of flavors of pie available for purchase either by the slice for $2 or $10 for an entire pie.
They will start selling the pies at the Senior Center, located at 1520 17th Street, at 9:00 tomorrow morning.
Also tomorrow, the Senior Center will be hosting a Rummage Sale in the Behringer Room in the Community House.
If you have any items you wish to donate to be sold, you can bring them in today.
“We prefer no clothes or electronics,” Michelle said. “It gets a little too much, and we would need a bigger space. Just stick to the basics, jewelry, crafts, household goods, outdoor things, all kinds of things.”
That sale will run from 8:30 to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow.
If there is anything left over, there will be additional sales on Friday as well.
