The National Weather Service is warning people about life-threatening waves of three-to-five feet and dangerous currents through today (August 9th).
A Beach Hazards Statement was released Monday by the government agency.
High waves and onshore winds could create dangerous swimming conditions at beaches in Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha counties.
National Weather Service meteorologists say the most dangerous swimming conditions can be anticipated at Vollrath Park in Sheboygan, North Beach in Port Washington, Bayview Beach in Milwaukee, Shoop Park Beach in Racine, and Simmons Island Beach in Kenosha.
The public is being urged to stay out of the water and away from piers and break walls.
