While gas prices are still higher than they were before the first major spike back in March, they have seen a drastic decline over the last two months.
According to the AAA Gas Prices webpage, the average price in Manitowoc County is down 16 cents compared to last week, now sitting at $3.69 per gallon.
The last time Manitowoc County fuel cost this little was back in the second week of April.
The same decline was reported in Calumet and Outagamie Counties, where the average price is now at $3.61 and $3.56 per gallon respectively.
In Sheboygan County, the average price dropped 15 cents to $3.77, while Brown County saw the largest decline in the area, dropping 18 cents down to $3.59.
Kewaunee County reported the smallest change, going down 7 cents to $3.71, while Door County motorists are paying 9 cents less per gallon, now averaging $3.81.
The state average also fell 17 cents to $3.70, and the national average still remains above $4.00, even after a 16-cent decline to $4.03.
There have been two major single-week spikes in fuel prices over the past five months.
The first occurred between the first and second week in March when Manitowoc County reported a 66-cent spike.
The second occurred between the first and second week June when a 59-cent spike sent the average price up to the record high in Manitowoc County, $4.86 per gallon.
