After a day off, the scuffling Milwaukee Brewers will open a two-game interleague series tonight with Tampa Bay at American Family Field.
Manager Craig Counsell’s team has dropped 6 of its’ last 7 that seemed to coincide with trading deadline moves, the biggest of which was the highly-scrutinized trade of closer Josh Hader.
The recent swoon has dropped Milwaukee into 2nd place in the National League Central, two games behind St. Louis.
In tonight’s series opener with the Rays, Freddy Peralta gets the start against Tampa’s Jimmy Yacabonis.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals begin a 3 game series with the Rockies in Denver before returning home to face the Brewers in a key weekend matchup at Busch Stadium.
