The Lakeshore Balloon Glow 2022 is scheduled for the Manitowoc downtown riverfront on Friday night, August 19th.
During an appearance, Thursday on WOMT’s After Further Review program with Jason and Tina Prigge, event spokesperson Heather Wesley of Fox Communities Credit Union, said they plan on having six hot air balloons tethered to the ground at dusk.
“What is so beautiful is when the sun goes down and it’s dusk, you see the lights from the propane heating up…these beautiful balloons, and it light’s up that whole area,” she explained. “It’s a sight to see.”
Wesley added they’re pleased to welcome back the “Webfooters” Water Ski Show from Fremont.
“They were a huge hit last year,” she said. “So much so that we invited them back this year. We are excited to have them hit the water and put on another amazing show for our guests.”
Other festivities scheduled for between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. that day include a traveling snake show, a demonstration provided by Lakeshore Robotics, bounce houses, Mischief and Magic performing a series of acts, 13 food trucks, corn on the cob served by the Lions Club, and a beverage area.
The night will conclude with a fireworks show.
Proceeds from this year’s Lakeshore Balloon Glow will go to support the City of Manitowoc’s new downtown holiday decorations, specifically designated toward the beautiful 26-foot Christmas tree that’ll become the focal point of Burger Boat Park during the holiday season.
