The Boys and Girls Club of Manitowoc County has announced the departure of its Executive Director.
Bill Bertsche, who was instrumental in bringing the club to Manitowoc, said in a news release that “This is a good time for me to step back into retirement and allow the next person to begin the phase two work of growing the Club here in Manitowoc.”
Bill was a key role in raising the $1.9 million needed to get the club started, but also helped organize and run their recent Fore Kids Golf Outing at Autumn Ridge.
Amy Townsend and Karen Nichols, Co-Chairs of the Club’s Board said in a joint statement, “Without Bill, there might still not be a Boys & Girls Club in Manitowoc. We’re sad to see him go, but grateful for all he’s done to create such an important asset for our future.”
Bertsche also said that he will continue to “support the mission” and will stay involved in the organization.
