A 3-star in-state defensive lineman from Hudson has committed to the Badgers football program as a preferred walk-on.
6′ 4″ 235-pound Will Mcdonald will join his brother Cade on the Wisconsin roster.
He agreed to come to Madison even though he had scholarship offers from FBS programs like Kansas and Iowa State, and FCS powerhouse North Dakota State.
Mcdonald will be the 14th member of the recruiting class of 2023.
He is the third defensive lineman of the class following Roderick Pierce and James Durand’s commitments.
In other Badgers news, Injured safety John Torchio is wearing the non-contact yellow jersey as the Badgers start camp, but he is expected to be a starter this fall.
The football program starts its work getting ready for the 2022 season Wednesday.
Reporters say it looked like Torchio needs some more recovery time before he becomes a full participant in the practice.
The first practice was without pads anyway.
Torchio was part of the rotation of safeties for the past two seasons.
During that time he has 41 tackles, four interceptions, and three pass breakups in 26 games.
