Even though the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers lost their last series 4 games to 2, and have lost 12 of their last 15 games, there were some bright spots that can be looked at over that stretch.
If we take a look at the offense, while the Rattlers were shut out three times in those 15 games, they did average just under 3.5 runs per game.
If you exclude those three shutouts, that average jumps up to 4.25 runs per game.
While the defensive side of the game left much to be desired during the 10-game losing streak, the pitching staff did have a great outing in each of the two wins over the weekend.
Between the 4-0 win, Friday over the West Division-leading Cedar Rapids Kernels and the final two games, a total of 40 strikeouts were recorded by Rattler pitchers.
The Appleton-based ballclub will try to put it all together tonight as they travel to Davenport Iowa to battle the struggling Quad Cities River Bandits.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
