The farmer’s markets in Green Bay and Fond du Lac are among four throughout the state that have been linked to a Salmonella outbreak.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, six people have become sick after eating shelled peas produced by Green Barn Farm Market out of Ripon.
The peas were sold at Green Barn Farm Market farm stands and farmer’s markets in Ripon, Green Bay, Madison, and Fond du Lac, as well as Green Valley Acres Farm and Company farm stand in Neenah.
Anyone who purchased these peas from Green Barn Farm Market or Green Valley Acres Farm since July 1st is advised to not eat them and to throw them away, even if the peas have been frozen.
If you have consumed them and have begun experiencing Salmonellosis symptoms, you are encouraged to contact your doctor immediately.
