The Bucks aren’t expected to give veteran extensions to Khris Middleton or Brook Lopez before the NBA season starts.
Lopez is entering the last year of his contract with an estimated paycheck of almost $14 million.
Middleton will have a $40 million player option available after the 2023-2024 season.
If Milwaukee doesn’t emerge a winner at the end of the upcoming season the team’s ownership could decide to avoid the luxury tax and rebuild the roster when it has some salary cap flexibility without the contracts for Lopez and Middleton after they become free agents.
