For the 10th consecutive game, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers added a tick in the loss column.
The Appleton-based ballclub fell to the Cedar Rapids Kernels last night 6-2, in a game that was essentially over before the Ratters even had a chance to bat.
For this first time in his four starts as a Rattler, Israel Puello had a bad start on the mound, giving up five runs on five hits, while walking six batters in his four and one-third innings of work.
The Kernels scored four times in the 1st inning and coasted to the easy win.
The Rattlers did pick up nine hits, but only brought home two runs, one of which was on a based-loaded walk.
The two teams will square off again at Fox Cities Stadium tonight, on a game billed as Wisconsin Night.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m., which is also when Saturday’s game is slated to begin.
Sunday’s series finale will begin at 1:10 p.m. where the Rattlers will give away Freddy Peralta bobbleheads
