The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have now lost nine games in a row following last night’s 7-4 loss to the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
The Kernels started the game strong offensively, hitting a pair of solo home runs in the 1st inning off of Rattler pitcher Justin Bullock, who allowed four runs on the day on six hits.
Joey Matulovich came on in the 6th inning with the score 4-3 in favor of the Kernels but gave up three more runs.
Brady Schanuel and Christian Tripp were able to shut the Kernels out the rest of the way, but the offense could not make up the difference.
Offensively, Tristan Peters and Jackson Chourio each had a pair of hits for the Rattlers, and they scored three of their team’s four runs.
The Rattlers and Kernels square off again this evening at Fox Cities Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
