The Wisconsin Humane Society reports that 62 endangered dogs have found foster homes in the state.
Nine beagle mothers and 53 puppies were rescued from a mass breeding facility in Cumberland, Virginia.
The Humane Society of the United States is coordinating the removal of about 4,000 beagles from the Virginia facility.
It reportedly bred dogs to be sold to laboratories for animal experimentation.
The mass transfer comes as the result of a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Justice in May alleging violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
