The Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department has released some details about the early morning fire at Hartman’s Bakery.
According to Fire Chief Todd Blaser, fire crews arrived on the scene of the fire within five minutes of receiving the call, which came in just after 12:20 a.m., and found flames emitting from the exterior of the bakery.
There were people inside when the fire began, but they all were able to exit without injury once they noticed smoke filling the baking area.
Chief Blaser said that the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it “appears to be unintentional with no current available dollar loss.”
The Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department was assisted by Manitowoc Police Department along with Manitowoc Public Utilities.
