The Manitowoc County Soil & Water Conservation Department will be offering a free well water screening for nitrates next week.
Drinking too many nitrates can cause some inverse health effects, namely in the bloodstream.
The testing will begin on Monday (August 1st) and will go through the end of the week.
All you have to do to participate is bring ½ cup of well water to the Soil & Water Conservation Department, located in the County Office Complex at 4319 Expo Drive in Manitowoc, between 8:30 and 4:30 p.m.
You can also drop your sample off between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. at the Mishicot Country Store on Monday, the Maribel BP on Ewald Lane on Tuesday, the Reedsville C-Store on Wednesday, or Rick’s Piggly Wiggly in Kiel on Thursday.
