There will be a snapshot of the homeless situation in Manitowoc as a part of a national effort.
Wednesday (July 27th) will be the date for what is known as the PIT count, which stands for Point In Time.
Michael Etheridge, the Executive Director of The Haven of Manitowoc County, explained to Seehafer News, “Across the United States every continuum that works with homeless individuals and families at a certain time twice a year on the last Wednesday we all get together, go out in groups and we go and look for homeless individuals.”
Then they will ask them some demographic questions, and Etheridge says they “put them in a hotel for the night and have them come into a shelter program the next day.
Etheridge said that sometimes a person may for some reason want to remain in the homeless situation.
The Haven is a shelter for homeless men located at 1003 Marshall Street in Manitowoc.
