Wisconsin is part of a 5-state midwestern law enforcement effort by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration next week.
Manitowoc Police Chief Nick Reimer tells Seehafer News that “Speed Awareness Day” is next Wednesday, July 27th.
“If you’re out on the road we will have extra enforcement, specifically for speed,” he explained. “So, really hoping to reduce speeds out there. People should obey speed limit signs every day, but certainly, July 27th just giving a word of caution anywhere in the state of Wisconsin there’s going to be extra enforcement.”
Chief Reimer explains the goal of Wednesday’s campaign is to encourage drivers to slow down and reduce crashes.
