Postponed once by threatening weather, construction on Interstate 41/U-S 45 starts today (July 22nd).
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the work will take about 54 hours to complete.
Other work will be taken care of while new beams are placed for the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge.
Those beams weigh 195,000 pounds each.
Traffic will be diverted off the interstate onto Highway 100 at Watertown Plank Road.
The work should be completed before 5:00 Monday morning.
