The Green Bay Police Department was led on a chase throughout the East Side of the city earlier this week.
The chase began at around 7:00 a.m. on Sunday (July 17th) when officers were called to the Bay Beach Shell gas station on a report of a man and a woman passed out in a vehicle.
The caller reported seeing 38-year-old Wayne Waukechon and 29-year-old Vanessa Cooper taking pills prior to passing out.
When officers woke Waukechon up, he immediately backed out of the parking space and fled.
He then led police on a winding sporadic chase throughout the area before coming to a stop near the East River on Pine Street.
The duo then reportedly jumped into the River in an attempt to escape.
While hanging onto a branch, Waukechon allegedly pulled out a baggie containing drugs, and snorted them in front of police.
He was eventually taken into custody after an inflatable boat was used to get to the duo.
Waukechon is facing nine charges, including Obstructing and Fleeing, while Cooper has been hit with three charges including Resisting and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
