While most would agree there is a long way to go, the fuel prices in Eastern Wisconsin continued to drop significantly over the past week.
According to the AAA Gas Prices website, the average price per gallon of fuel fell 26 cents in Manitowoc County to $4.17, the largest drop in the area.
Sheboygan and Calumet County each reported 7-cent drops to $4.32 and $4.20, as did Kewaunee County where the average sits at $4.29.
Outagamie County motorists are paying 19 cents less at the pump with an average of $4.02 while Brown County fuel is down 23 cents to $4.08.
Door County no longer has the most expensive fuel in the area as they reported an 18-cent decline to $4.31, leaving Sheboygan County as the priciest area to buy gas.
The state average fell 9 cents to $4.23, and the national average is down 16 cents to $4.49.
While these dips are good for the consumer’s wallets, a gallon of fuel in the seven-county area we cover still costs $1.22 more now ($4.20) than it did in the third week of July last year ($2.98).
