The operator of the powerboat that hit a paddleboat with more than 40 people on board last weekend has been arrested on hit-and-run charges.
The owner and operator is identified by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office as Jason Lindemann.
He faces a dozen counts of recklessly endangering safety and 11 counts of failing to render aid.
The sheriff’s office says several agencies were involved in the search for Lindemann. Numerous tips were received.
One passenger who was riding the “On the Loos Cruise” boat says it was approaching the dock at the end of its evening trip when it was hit.
