An Ashwaubenon woman is being accused of stalking workers at a daycare, kidnapping a 1-year-old boy, and attempting to lure children away.
Officers were called to a home on Packerland Drive last week Thursday (July 7th) when a family claimed their aunt, 56-year-old Rena Sterling, had stopped by and left with their infant child.
The family informed the police that Sterling has a history of mental health problems.
Officers combed the area and found Sterling sitting in a lawn chair with the infant outside of a home.
The officer said she did not seem coherent as she claimed she was asked to babysit the child.
Earlier in the day, officers also reported that Sterling was at a daycare earlier in the day, calling children over to the fence. She allegedly told workers that she had been watching them “day and night”.
Sterling has been charged with Abduction/Child-Taking, Stalking, And Disorderly Conduct.
