A major development project in the Town of Sheboygan is getting some significant help from the State.
The Board of Commissioners of Public Lands has granted the North Town development project $9.5 million to help make the huge project a reality.
The project officially got underway on June 9th, as a groundbreaking was held on the 99-acre mix-use development.
The large plot of land is located northeast of the I-43 and Highway 42 interchange and will be home to over 600 residential units, a hotel, and some retail and commercial space.
There will also be a public town square.
The entire North Town project is anticipated to add more than $48 million in improvement value to the local tax rolls and will take a big chunk out of the ever-present housing issue.
