An incoming junior at Manitowoc Lincoln High School is part of a national championship volleyball team.
Madison York, a 6’ 1” outside hitter for the Ships, competed on the Fox Cities Elite Volleyball Club team, based in Menasha, on the 4th of July.
Madison and her teammates captured 1st place in the National Division at the Girls Junior National Tournament at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

There were 304 teams competing in the 16 and under division level and Fox Cities Elite was coached by Jeff Van Lannen and Katie Schmidt.
Madison, who is the daughter of Michael and Cindy York, was joined on the roster by four athletes from Howards Grove High School, Kamryn Kaminski, Mallory Gozdziewski, Elle Kennedy and Olivia Baierl.
It should be noted that in each of their 3 Gold bracket games, the Junior National champs came back from a loss in the first set to win.
