Yvonne H. Zimmer, age 85, a Two Rivers resident, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Froedtert/Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, with her loving family at her side.
She was born July 10, 1936 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Frank and Francis Blahnik. In September 1956, Yvonne married Derald E. Zimmer at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2018. She worked as a CNA and was also co-owner of Zimmer TV and Appliance of Two Rivers. Yvonne was a member of the Red Hat Society and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and knitting, and especially loved her dogs and spending time with her family.
Survivors include six children: Deacon Steve & Becky Zimmer, Cindy & Doug McCord, RuthAnn Thompson, Todd Zimmer, Scott & Renee Zimmer, and Joyce & Steve Dimmick; 20 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; one sister: Jeanette Junk; and one sister-in-law: Sue Zimmer. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was further preceded in death by her husband: Derald Zimmer; her parents; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruth (Mike) DeCarlo, Laverne (Bob) Provot, and Beverly (Al) Orchekowski; and in-laws: Joan (Jack) Bullman, Lester Zimmer, and Shirley (Harv) Wiegand.
Cremation has taken place at Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc and services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1800 Brunner Road, Newton. Officiating at the service will be the Reverend David Beaudry and her son Deacon Steve Zimmer. Yvonne will be laid to rest with her husband at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, Wisconsin, at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton.
