Once the second half of the Midwest League season began, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers flipped a switch.
They went from playing .500 ball to winning six in a row, five of which came against the team that was leading the West Division through the first half of the season.
The Rattlers bested the Cedar Rapids Kernels 12-9 on Friday, 7-6 on Saturday, and 5-4 Sunday.
Then, on the 4th of July, the Rattlers traveled to South Bend to take on the Cubs.
They dominated the Cubs 9-1, handing them only their second loss in the last ten games.
The Rattlers have stormed back into the West Division race, as they are now only half of a game behind the Kernels.
The Appleton-based ballclub will take a much-deserved break today before resuming their series with South Bend tomorrow evening.
