
Manitowoc police officers were called shortly before 4 p.m. yesterday (Sunday) to the 1200 block of S. 17th Street for the report of a suicidal man, who was armed with a handgun inside his garage.
While enroute to the scene, officers were told the suspect was discharging his handgun in the front yard of the residence.
After efforts to communicate with the male proved unsuccessful, the Manitowoc County S.W.A.T. team responded with their armored vehicle and were able to apprehend him without incident.
A city police spokesman explained, at this time, there are no known victims from the incident and no rounds were discharged at any residences or pedestrians in the area.
