A major road construction project has been approved in Manitowoc County.
The State Highway 42 bridge at Silver Creek, located just south of US 151, will be improved starting next Tuesday.
The $1.03 million project was approved recently by Governor Tony Evers and will include the removal and replacement of the bridge, structure grading, beam guard replacement, and several other items.
Pheifer Brothers Construction Company of Neenah is leading the project.
As a result of the project, Highway 42 will be closed to through traffic.
Motorists will be directed to use I-43 and County Road C to get around the area.
