Six people are without a home following a fire in an apartment complex in De Pere.
A call was received at around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday (June 29th) reporting the fire, and multiple units responded.
Some firefighters helped some of the elderly residents get out of the building, while other battled the blaze which started on the second floor.
The fire reportedly damaged four apartments, causing $200,000 in damage. The displaced residents are being aided by the American Red Cross.
Crews also used a drone equipped with a thermal camera to check for hot spots.
The utilization of the drone saved the fire teams a lot of time, since walking the entire complex would have been time-consuming, and they still may have missed some spots.
