Wisconsin football has received a commitment from 3-star nose tackle Jamel Howard of Chicago.
The 6′ 3″, 320-pounder is the 12th prospect to commit for the recruiting class of 2023.
He picked the Badgers or Illinois, Iowa State, and a long list of mid-major programs.
Howard is being compared to this year’s starter, Keeanu Benton, for his ability to make some plays from the position and not just be a block eater.
Howard is said to be close friends in two other incoming players from the Chicago area – defensive lineman Roderick Pierce and defensive back Justin Taylor.
