
Illinois abortion providers are planning to add more staff members and extend office hours as they get ready for a steady stream of out-of-state patients seeking abortions.
Planned Parenthood of Illinois says it has been getting ready for Roe-V-Wade to be overturned for a long time.
That is reportedly one reason the organization opened a clinic near the Wisconsin border in Waukegan two years ago.
Medical Director Doctor Amy Whitaker says 20,000 to 30,000 new patients are expected.
She says clinics have been taking a lot of calls from Wisconsin patients following last week’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
