The Manitowoc Police Department has reported the arrest of a man who fled from police and admitted to stealing a vehicle.
The police report states that an officer was on patrol in the 2600 block of South 10th Street at around 2:45 Friday morning (June 24th), when he saw a vehicle make a turn, and squeal its tires.
When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle kept driving.
They eventually parked in a driveway.
Due to the darkness at the time, the office did not see where the occupants fled to, but one of them was located walking on Green Street near South 10th Street.
Again when the officer approached, the suspect fled, but he was caught a short distance later.
The 17-year-old suspect admitted that the vehicle was stolen in Sheboygan and that he was driving the vehicle.
Another individual was also reported to be in the passenger seat, but it is not clear if they were apprehended.
The teen was charged with Fleeing or Eluding an Officer, and Obstructing an Officer.
