The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin announced the recipients of their latest round of grants, and the Two Rivers area will be getting some of that money.
Frontier North was awarded just shy of $269,000 for their project, to which they are contributing over $1.5 million.
This project will utilize a Fiber to the Premise service to reach 10 business and 156 residential locations in Manitowoc County, specifically in the rural Two Rivers area.
In total, the PSC awarded $125 million in grants to areas all over the state.
The broadband expansion grants invest in construction projects for internet service in areas of the state that are challenging to connect due to population density or geography.
Since 2014, 434 grants have been awarded through the grant program from state and federal funding to projects impacting 71 counties.
