Kiel’s Travis Kohlmann worked 8 strong innings on the mound and the winning run scored in the last of the 8th to give Manitowoc a 4-to-3 victory over the Ahnapee Trailblazers in varsity American Legion baseball last night.
With the score tied at 3 apiece, Brock Peterson led off with a single, followed by a Ridge Guyette double, putting runners at 2nd and 3rd.
Peterson then tallied the game-winner on a wild pitch. Guyette, who prepped at Hilbert, also homered in the game while Peterson of Manitowoc Lincoln went 2-for-4 at the plate.
Kohlmann gets the win by scattering 8 hits and 1 earned run with 9 strikeouts and no walks.
Legion Post 88 takes a 3 and 1 record to Green Bay Southwest for its’ next game tonight at 7:30 p.m.
